This is a strategic database, not just a to-do list. Use the specific columns below to uncover hidden admissions criteria. Why These Columns Matter:
Program Director: Real people read applications. Knowing the leader (e.g., Dr. Sarah Chen) allows you to build meaningful connection (i.e. true networking) to prove genuine engagement. Admissions officers should be able to recognize your name by the time you apply. LinkedIn Alumni: Don't guess. Look up past winners/attendees to see their actual stats and extracurriculars to gauge your fit. Acceptance Trends: Save time by identifying unwritten rules. (e.g., RSI almost exclusively accepts Olympiad finalists; SSP requires 1550+ SATs). Spike Alignment: explicitly define how this program proves your narrative (e.g., MIT Beaver Works serves as proof of a "CS/Bio" focus). Assignment: Review the Example File: Note how the student tracks "Reaches" vs. "Targets" and manages prerequisites (like LORs). Start Your Tracker: Copy the blank template and add 5 programs. You must fill out the Acceptance Trends and Alumni columns for your top choice.

A 20-row tracker template for managing summer program applications across tiers, with columns for Spike Alignment, Deadline, Cost & Funding, Application Components, Status, Notes, Program Director, Whether Contacted, Alumni Profiles, and Acceptance Trends.
Sample row data (use as a model; replace with your own targets):
- RSI (Tier 1 Reach) — Spike: original mentored research at CS/Biology intersection. Deadline Jan 15. Free. 5 essays + 2 LoRs + transcript + PSAT/ACT + research list. Most admits are USA(J)MO/USAPhO/USACO finalists with arXiv preprints.
- BU RISE (Tier 2 Target) — 6-week research internship; ~$7,800 (need-based aid). Identify 3 BU professors to name-drop in "Why BU?" essay.
- SSP (Tier 1/2 Target) — Astrophysics or Genomics. Deadline Feb 5. ~$8,400, generous aid. Problem sets are critical to the application.
